What You'll Do
- Provide exceptional customer service at the circulation desk.
- Assist patrons with technology, research, and library resources.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate programs and activities for teens and young adults.
- Promote and market library services, resources, and events.
- Provide readers' advisory services and recommend materials.
- Assist with collection development and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software issues.
- Maintain records and statistics within the integrated library system.
- Create publications, promotional materials, and website content.
- Conduct community outreach and build partnerships that support library services.
- Supervise and provide guidance to library assistants during evening and weekend hours.
- Assist with administrative duties including reports, correspondence, and departmental records.
- Support library operations and provide backup assistance as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Education, Humanities, Library Science, or a related field.
- One to three years of public library, technical services, circulation, customer service, or related experience preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience working with teens and young adults is highly desirable.
- Master of Library Science (MLS).
- North Dakota Library Media Certification (LM03).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional special events.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties requiring standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
