Description
Teacher Aide/Driver is responsible for assisting the Program Teacher and providing safe and efficient transportation to the students participating in the Desert Hot Springs Recreation Center School Program
Examples of Duties
Essential functions:
Functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in carrying out all classroom and outdoor activities
- Assist with the supervision of children
- Assist children with self-help skills
- Provide snacks and assist with general housekeeping tasks related to the program
- Enforce standards of behavior with approved discipline techniques
- Monitor children’s interactions and help solve conflicts
- Operate company vehicle safely and in accordance with Desert Hot Springs Vehicle Use Policy and all state and federal operation and transportation laws
- Make sure enrolled students are picked up and dropped off at the designated locations
- Ensures that all vehicle rules are announced and followed; communicates with Program Manager and Teacher all issues observed while transporting members
- Ensures vehicle is clean, fueled, and in efficient condition at all times
- Accurately maintains daily log and record of mileage and keeps maintenance log; reports maintenance notifications and issues immediately
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- May assist other staff as needed and with overflow work as assigned
Typical Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Licenses and Certifications:
Current and valid CPR and first aid certificate issued by the American Heart Association
Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record at time of appointment

Receives general supervision of the Program Manager and receives direct supervision from the Program Teacher
Salary : $53,830 - $65,437
