Part-Time Graphic Designer
The City of Des Plaines is seeking a creative and reliable Graphic Designer to support City communications through print and digital media. This part-time role works approximately 9 hours per week and offers the opportunity to create materials that are seen and used across the community.
What You’ll Do:
- Design flyers, newsletters, brochures, reports, social media graphics, and other materials
- Support major projects such as the annual budget book
- Maintain consistent visual branding across platforms
- Collaborate with staff to develop clear, engaging content
- Edit photos and graphics for print and digital use
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 2 years of graphic design experience with a portfolio
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Strong layout, typography, and visual communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage priorities
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff
Compensation:
Starting at $25 per hour, with ( /-) flexibility based on experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License or ability to obtain one
- Ability to attend occasional night meetings or night/weekend events as needed
