Shift: 1st Shift, 5 day work week

A Typical Work Day May Include:
Utilizing the city’s asset management system and computer-based tools to track work orders, assigned tasks, preventive maintenance, and equipment records.
Conduct minor maintenance to HVAC and other building systems.
Conduct minor repairs to buildings and equipment which may include carpentry, painting, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Provide assistance for city functions and events, including setting up tables and chairs for various activities and meetings.
Replace light bulbs and ballasts when needed.
Respond to janitorial emergencies.
Stock supplies in storage rooms in a neat and orderly manner and notify supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
Operate motor vehicles and other equipment on a regular basis.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Assist with snow and ice preparation, when assigned.
Respond to department and city emergencies.
Assist with projects across other divisions within Public Works.

What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Kansas driver’s license and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200 and 700 certifications required within 12 months of employment.
What Will Put You Ahead:
One year of facility maintenance experience
General knowledge of building maintenance and equipment maintenance
Ability to use asset management and work order software effectively
General knowledge of computers and tablets for data entry and recordkeeping
Ability to operate all facility maintenance equipment
Ability to meet and deal tactfully with other employees and the general public
Salary : $2,000
