What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Maintenance Tech position at City of Deltona?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all inclusive): Conducts general mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs and painting on equipment, buildings and grounds operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. Orders parts and services from vendors in compliance with purchasing guidelines. Sets up park functions requiring moving bleachers, tables, chairs. Prepares reports and records for the Maintenance Division. Maintains nature trails; removes trash and debris. Perform routine grounds maintenance activities such as mowing and edging lawns, planting and trimming hedges. Layout, plant, trim, weed, fertilize and apply mulch to flower and landscape beds. Clean sidewalks, awnings, City buildings and recreation facilities as needed. Maintains, constructs and repairs playground equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. Requires two years in construction maintenance and repair or closely related experience.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Requires a Class B commercial driver's license, a CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire. Position is subject to being "on call" and working after normal City work hours as well as on weekends and holidays.
