The City of Delray Beach is a Non-Tobacco Workplace. The City will not consider applicants who have used tobacco or nicotine products for a period of at least three months prior to application for employment. The definition of "tobacco or nicotine products" includes but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, pipes, snuff, e-cigarettes, and nicotine patches or gum.
The intern will assist with all aspects of the City’s legal department.
- Assist mentor with various aspects of litigation, including researching and drafting motions, preparing memoranda and observing court hearings
- Research and draft ordinances, resolutions, and legal opinions
- Observe City board meetings
- Participate in projects as may be assigned by Assistant City Attorneys
- Draft agreements
Knowledge, skills, abilities and personal characteristics
- Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office 2010 and Westlaw
- Knowledge of city government
- Understand role of City Attorney’s Office
- Draft various legal documents
Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026 (9 weeks)
