- Perform carpentry and incidental work related to buildings and facilities owned by the City.
- Obtain the necessary permits and schedule inspections to ensure compliance.
- Assist building maintenance workers in daily maintenance functions (such as, janitorial, custodian or painting or electrical projects, moving furniture and other objects), as needed.
- Perform semi-skilled tasks in electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, concrete, tile and patchwork.
- Conduct safety inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Prepare estimates and process work requests.
- Install, maintain, repair, replace, design, and build carpentry related work, structures and products,
- Perform all functions and responsibilities according to the, Palm Beach County Code of Ethics and Florida State Statutes 112.313.
- Does related work as required.
- High school graduate or equivalency diploma.
- Training in the carpentry trade and one or more of the crafts of the building construction and related contracting trades.
- Three (3) years of experience in the discipline of carpentry as related to residential, commercial, and light industrial applications.
License, Certification Or Registration
- Valid Florida Class "E" Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
- Specialty Trade Carpentry Certification (Palm Beach County) or equivalency
