The City of Defiance is seeking motivated and dependable applicants for the position of Water Distribution Equipment Operator. This position helps maintain the City’s water infrastructure, streets and will operate a variety of heavy and light equipment, including bulldozers, street sweepers and backhoes. Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of equipment operating experience. A State of Ohio Class B CDL is preferred but not required. This is a full-time position with a starting wage of $23.22 - $24.44 per hour with a full benefits package including health, vision & dental insurance, life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, and enrollment in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. Applicants with Military Service must provide a copy of Form DD-214 at time of application to receive military credit.
