What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Laborer - HVAC/Electrical Division position at City of Deer Park?
GENERAL PURPOSE
Perform a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction operation repair maintenance, and replacement of city facilities and systems. Possible interest in working in a new craft such as electrical and HVAC.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the immediate supervision of the Divisional Crew Leader

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES
Maintains plant site by operating mowers, weedeaters, edgers, ect.
Insures the proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking before and after using.
Assists in maintaining a variety of records relating to inspections and maintenance activity.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards.
Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew.
Be able to help assist in changing out HVAC filters in different city facilities
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Some knowledge of equivalent, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities.
- Skills in operation of some of the listed tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy manual task for extended periods of time; ability to work safely; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instruction.
SPECIAL REQUIRENETS
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Compressors, sanders, generators, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrench, detection devices, mobile radio, phone, ditch witch, ladders, lawnmowers, weed eaters, paint brushes, post whole diggers, shovels and rakes.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
