What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECREATION AIDE (PT) - Kitchen Aide position at City of Dearborn?
RATE OF PAY: $15.00 per hour
HOURS: 4-12 hours per week; Monday - Friday
MINIMUM AGE: 18 years
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This is part-time work serving and cleaning up at potluck lunches served at Senior Citizen Pleasant Hours Club meetings and special senior functions. Optional opportunities at other functions may be presented.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves food and beverages to attendees at club meetings and special functions.
- Sets tables and prepares potluck dishes for serving.
- Prepares tea and coffee.
- Carries or transports food and beverage items to tables.
- Clears and cleans tables and countertops, washes cups and silverware and sweeps floor as needed.
- Interacts with others in a pleasant manner
- Maintains cooperative working relationships with club members and City employees.
- Comprehends and follows verbal and written instructions.
- Maintains neat and clean appearance.
- Must carry and set up tables and chairs.
- Orders paper products.
- Purchases incidental food items with funds from club treasury.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Education or experience in working with older adults or the elderly and in coordinating program and volunteers is preferred.

Must submit to a criminal history check (including sex offender registry if applicable) and drug screen.
