This position is responsible for receiving, redacting, filing and disseminating law enforcement data in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and internal policies. Primary responsibility will involve responding to FOIA requests, the review and redaction of video material, and all related record maintenance. The work involves following practices and procedures that protect the original evidence that has been digitally recorded, to ensure complete integrity of the original evidence, and to adhere to appropriate chain of custody requirements.

Knowledge, Skills And Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Some positions may require occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.
Experience And Training/Licensing Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D. equivalent. Video production training in college,
trade schools or production facility environment preferred. Minimum of two years of work experience with video
editing programs and keyboarding. Familiarity with non-linear editing software strongly preferred.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Download police in-car and body camera footage onto editing system.
- Review footage, identify all information to be redacted, and redact all pertinent video and audio material using the redaction software tools.
- Export redacted video clips to assigned server or burn copies of original evidence that had been digitally recorded; maintain appropriate chain of custody.
- Assist in other general office work as required, including maintaining paper records, logs, prepare reports, and other related tasks.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Attends meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills And Physical Requirements
- Knowledge of law enforcement terminology and experience using tools and techniques to manipulate and redact video, audio and electronic data are highly desired. Must maintain currency in that knowledge.
- Must have ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality, have good problem-solving skills, and be able to work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Must be able to maintain focus for extended periods of time while viewing possibly disturbing video and audio footage.

- Possession of a valid Michigan Driver's license
- Satisfactory completion of criminal history (including sex offender registry if applicable), and a drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law
