The Davenport City Assessor's Office is taking applications for the following full time position:
Residential Appraiser I: Under general direction of the Davenport City Assessor, appraise real estate within the jurisdiction consistent with state law.

- Computer and appraisal software programs (CAMA) used in the valuation of property

- Mathematical computations
- English language to include grammar, spelling, sentence structure and vocabulary.
- Knowledge of or a background in construction is preferred but not required
- Provide customer service that is courteous and responsive
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Complete forms and maintain records and filing system
- Use a computer for the purpose of data entry, spreadsheets, word processing, email, GIS and Internet
- Work cooperatively with other City Offices, Scott County Offices and outside agencies and members of the public
- Preform reviews in all types of weather
- Review and measure all types of buildings
- Attend training on-site or off-site as directed by the Assessor
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's Degree in related field and experience in real estate valuation OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Working knowledge of Office Applications: Excel, Word, Access
- Experience with Property Appraisals (helpful but not required)
- Ability to understand written or verbal instructions
- Valid driver's license and be insurable
- Must pass a background check
