This is an AmeriCorps position with the City of Davenport AmeriCorps Program.
Living Stipend: $6,000
Education Award: $1,956.35

Total Hours Required: 450 hours
Position Description:
1) Support the Let's Band Together Instrument Donation Program
- Coordinate instrument donation efforts throughout the year.
- Catalog, inspect, test, and maintain donated instruments to prepare them for distribution.
- Participate in the distribution of instruments to local youth and music education programs.
- Maintain accurate instrument inventory records.
- Promote the Let's Band Together program and other free music education resources by building relationships with local music educators and teaching artists.
2) Enrich the InTune Mentor Program at Partner Sites
- Support weekly mentoring sessions at community partner sites through music-based activities and youth engagement.
- Facilitate age-appropriate music enrichment activities for elementary-aged students.
- Develop music education activities and lesson plans that promote creativity, teamwork, and music learning.
- Collaborate with program staff to strengthen curriculum and contribute ideas for future programming.
3) Produce Creative Content for Community Communication
- Create written and visual content that highlights Common Chord programs, events, and community impact.
- Design promotional materials, including flyers, graphics, and other communication materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
- Ensure content aligns with Common Chord's mission, branding, and communication standards.
- Collaborate with staff to develop communications that support community outreach and engagement.
- Monitor engagement and evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
4) Increase Community Engagement to Support Music Education
- Participate in community events and outreach activities representing Common Chord.
- Share information about Common Chord programs, AmeriCorps service opportunities, and free community resources.
- Coordinate activities that support community events, workshops, performances, and outreach initiatives.
- Create promotional materials and recruit volunteers for community programming.
- Facilitate activities that encourage participation and increase access to music education.
