Overview
The Manager-Airfield Security manages, oversees, plans, evaluates, and coordinates security policies, procedures, and protocols for the airfield and its operations. Oversees security for tenant activities, capital improvement, and airport construction projects compliance.
Essential Functions
Oversees and manages airfield security for the airport; ensures all security personnel perform inspections, monitor safety compliance, and administer security protocols on airport properties, projects, buildings, tenant activities, and capital improvements.
2 Manages all activities of security personnel to ensure the airfield security activities are efficient; develops guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations and monitors compliance with policies and procedures.
3 Investigates security problems and participates, leads, and manages emergency situations; communicates and collaborates with airside and landside operations and other groups to address security breaches and make changes as necessary.
4 Identifies needed areas of change and potential security breaches and makes recommendations to improve operations; directs and manages the implementation of corrective action and responsibility; plans, assigns, and supervises managers and security teams within the airfield.
5 Establishes short-, mid- and long-term goals and objectives; develops approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals, and directs evaluation activities; oversees the preparation of management, security situations, and productivity reports and studies.
6 Oversees special investigations, internal audits, security plans, and research studies; manages the preparation of and evaluation of budget request; monitors the planning, development, and operation of security operations.
7 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of municipal, state, and federal aviation regulations and security protocols.
2 Knowledge of security protocols, policies, and procedures.
3 Ability to determine emergent and security breaches, and suggest corrective action.
4 Ability to manage security operations and communicate with various individuals, tenants, and airport personnel.
5 Ability to interpret, educate, and apply regulations to correct compliance issues.
6 Ability to navigate emergency situations with knowledge, security, and experience.
7 Ability to provide security training and professional development
8 Ability to manage time and complete multiple tasks.
9 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
10 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of experience in aviation or airport operations which must include one (1) or more of the following areas:
- Airport Landside Operations
- Airport Security Operations
- Airside/Airfield Operations
- Airport Operations Center
- Airport Emergency Management
- Airfield Safety
- Served as a Duty Manager at a FAR 139 airport
AND
- Two (2) years of supervisory/lead work experience responsibilities (This experience may be included in the required experience listed above).
EQUIVALENCY: .
- Associate degree (or higher) in ANY field plus three (3) years of the required experience including two (2) years of supervisory/lead work experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in aviation, airport, emergency management field plus two (2) years of the required experience including two (2) years of supervisory/lead work experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Must obtain Airport Movement Area certification within probationary period.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check.
- Availability to work varying shifts (days, evenings, nights) including weekends, holidays.
- May be subject to twenty-four/seven (24/7) emergency call outs.
Salary Range
$64,252.45 - $79,800.20
The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
