UTILITY MAINTENANCE WORKER- GRINDER PUMP
CITY OF CROSSVILLE
Regular hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-4:30PM
Starting annual salary is $37,960/$18.25 per hour. Employees are eligible for 5% salary increase at the conclusion of a satisfactory six (6) month probationary period.
The job of Utility Maintenance Worker is a full-time position that includes a full benefits package. Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs on all types of pumps, valves, electrical motors/lines, gear drives and other machinery.
- Inspects and maintains lines at electrical panel which powers grinder pumps.
- Follows appropriate safety procedures, practices and precautions.
- Maintains detailed records on grinder pumps including serial numbers, unit numbers and placement location.
- Cleans tanks and makes repairs.
- Works with utility crew to install,repair, and maintain water and sewer lines.
- Drives truck to haul materials and supplies.
- Loads and unlocks truck.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 6-8 years of relative experience is preferred
- Requires a State of Tennessee electrical license within one (1) year of employment.
- Requires a Tennessee Class B Commercial Drivers License after one (1) year of employment; Class A license is highly preferred
