What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Dispatcher position at City of Cripple Creek?
Job duties include: performs work in receiving and prioritizing emergency and other calls for service for law enforcement, fire, emergency and related services and informs and dispatches response units; provides emergency medical instructions to the public per protocols; prepares and maintains a variety of records and serves as receptionist. Must be able to: monitor and answer multi-channel radios and monitor additional frequencies for adjacent jurisdictions; maintain accurate and current awareness of the status and location of all personnel and equipment; operate computer terminals to enter, query, modify and/or delete data from NCIC/CCID and CAD systems; maintain confidentiality; monitor building surveillance equipment. Must also be able to perform well in high stress situations, work within a team environment, assist with various clerical duties and assist the public. Shift work required for 24/7 emergency operations.
Requirements include: experience preferred. Must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent; pass a background check, psych and polygraph, audiogram, computer skills test and other job specific testing.
