Treatment Plant Operator

The Plant Operations Department is now accepting applications for the position of Treatment Plant Operator. Pay will correspond with the years of experience and certification level as outlined below.
Treatment Plant Operator I: Entry-level position; Colorado Class D Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire. Hiring Range: $48,783 to $57,391, DOE.
Treatment Plant Operator II: Specialized training and experience in water and/or wastewater treatment facility operations; Colorado Class C Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator certification; minimum two years of increasingly responsible treatment plant operations and maintenance experience required. Hiring Range: $53,783 to $63,274, DOE.
Treatment Plant Operator III: Specialized training and experience in water and/or wastewater treatment facility operations; Colorado Class B Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Operator certification; minimum three years of increasingly responsible treatment plant operations and maintenance experience required. Hiring Range: $59,296 to $69,760, DOE.
Job duties include: Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance tasks in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Requirements include: High school diploma or GED. Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and provide an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record from any state in which a license was held within the last three years.
