Description
Responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of the Finance department
and Municipal Court; receives and verifies invoices for goods and services; enters
invoices for payment; manages vendor checks for mailing; answers telephone, and
provides professional, effective and efficient public service to the general public and
City staff. Acts as backup Cashier as needed. Communicates with supervisors,
coworkers, customers and vendors in person, in writing, by telephone or email. This
role routinely uses office equipment such as computers for various applications,
phones, photocopiers, scanners and shredding machines. Dependability, integrity,
analytical thinking, initiative, cooperation, persistence, and tolerance of stress are
also core elements. Work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant City
Manager and Court Clerk.
Examples of Duties
- Verifies invoices, vendor information and price changes; enters
- Researches outstanding vendor purchase orders and invoices
- Maintains Purchase Order files with receipts.
- Prepares and submits claims list to Department Heads, Assistant City
accounts payable.
- Provides support to the Court Clerk, including processing citations,
Court.
- Reviews ambulance runs daily and submits the information for
- Collects and processes payments received, assists in balancing receipts
- Maintains a balanced drawer that is submitted for close-out daily by 2:00
- Answers and operates central telephone system and routes callers or
- Receives the public and answers questions; responds to inquiries from

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Experience Required: 2 years of work experience in accounts payable, clerical,
secretarial, paralegal or administrative work with emphasis on pertinent federal, state
and local codes, laws and regulations. Experience with Incode software or other
Municipal Court software preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience and
education may be considered.
Certifications: Must have, or be willing to obtain, Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerk
Certification; must be bondable.
Minimum Education Requirements: Graduation from a high school or GED
equivalent with course work in general office practices such as typing, accounting,
use of business machines and data processing.
