Library Administrative Intern
The Library Department seeks a recent graduate or current student Administrative Intern to help our team perform analytical and support duties, conduct surveys and prepare reports in support of department objectives.
The Library provides information to the public in a number of formats and across a number of web-based platforms including the website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The Administrative Intern’s duties may include but are not limited to preparing reports, and surveys and helping produce informative or educational videos and newsletters.
The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate, or a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in course work relating to library science, communications, journalism, or similar fields.
This is a part-time (less than 1,000 hours per fiscal year) temporary position that does not include benefits.

Under direct supervision, to perform various administrative, analytical, and/or technical support duties in furtherance of an assigned City department, including conducting surveys and preparing reports.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This is typically used as an entry-level training class and employees may have only limited directly related work experience. It is commonly filled by current university or graduate school students or recent graduates seeking work experience. More experienced employees in this class may receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are expected to become fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.
Experience: No experience is required. Some general business or office experience is desirable. One year of research, administrative support, analytical and/or technical experience in the assigned area is also desirable.
Education/Training: High School degree. Course work in progress leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree.
Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License with a safe driving record.

Examination Process:
A completed City of Coronado employment application and resume must be received in the Human Resources Division. Applications will be screened for qualifications and those applicants considered best qualified will be invited to an interview with the department.
