What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Auditor I position at City of Commerce City?

Join our dynamic team as a Tax Auditor I and be a vital part of ensuring fair tax compliance in our community! In this role, you’ll conduct professional Sales and Use Tax Compliance Audits, issue tax assessments, and collect unpaid taxes, all while providing valuable education to taxpayers on their obligations and filing methods. Incumbents in this class should possess a general understanding of accounting practices and procedures as well as pertinent tax laws and audit standards. Incumbents in this class typically have intermediate to entry-level related work experience and may be considered to be in a training capacity for the first six months

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.

The hiring range is $34.50 - $38.33 / hourly

Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License. An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
