The City of Commerce City is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Technician to join our Community Development team. This entry-level position plays a key role in supporting a wide range of community development activities—from project research to administrative coordination. If you enjoy working in a dynamic environment, assisting with meaningful community projects, and providing exceptional internal and external service, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

In this role, you will support various planning-related tasks. You will perform essential clerical and administrative duties to keep the department running smoothly while coordinating daily support for the Director, Deputy Director, and Planning Manager. Additionally, you will help prepare materials, organize meetings, and facilitate communication for the Board of Adjustment, Planning Commission, and City Council, ensuring that each group receives timely and accurate information.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience. 
Hiring range is $25.99 - $28.88

Associate’s degree in Planning, Land Use, Geography, or related field from an accredited college or university.  An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Salary : $48,059 - $72,088
