What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park and Recreation Director - City of Columbus position at City of Columbus NE?
This position performs high level administrative work in planning, developing, maintaining and supervising the Park and Recreation Department including park facilities, park maintenance, aquatics and recreation programs. Coordinate recreation programs with other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Selection of personnel and the preparation of an annual budget including recommendations for capital improvements.
- Supervision is exercised directly or through subordinates and is performed under the general direction of the Director of General Services.
- Exercises considerable independent judgment in the planning and execution of maintenance/repair projects and the management of assigned functions.
Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation administration, management, finance, recreation programming or related fields.
- Three years or more of experience working in a supervisory recreational environment.
- Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
- Willingness to work irregular hours when required by recreational activities and events.

- Salary Range is $90,941 – $127,357 dependent on experience.
