- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities will vary according to the work environment and may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure that court systems, procedures, and practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and administrative orders; Research, evaluate and make recommendations regarding the impact of new legislation on court processes and procedures.
- Must have strong organizational skills, and professionalism in communication are crucial soft skills for managing sensitive information and interacting with the public.
- Interact courteously, patiently, and efficiently with the public, police department, attorneys, and court clerks on a daily basis. Maintain composure in hostile situations; deals with irate individuals on a regular basis.
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for the operation of the Municipal Court, including long and short-range plans.
- Comprehend and make inferences from written material, including state statutes, Supreme Court rulings, City ordinances, administrative orders, letters, memos, policies, and procedures, to ensure the appropriate processes are in place.
- Implement organizational procedures to improve efficiency, including managing office supplies and maintaining filing systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting residents with inquiries regarding court processes and procedures in a professional manner. Requirements
- Proven clerical experience with a strong background in office administration; paralegal or legal administrative experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with research methods related to legal cases or court procedures.
- Experience in litigation support or legal drafting enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Proficiency in data entry, word processing (such as Microsoft Word), and general office software is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated customer service skills for interacting professionally with the public and legal professionals.
- Knowledge of filing procedures, record management systems, and legal document handling is required.
- Ability to handle cash accurately while maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial transactions.
- Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience:
A minimum of a four-year college degree from an accredited college or university is preferred and a minimum of five (5) years of Court experience, supplemented with at least three (3) years of supervisory experience. Must be bondable
Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
