The purpose of this job is to ensure compliance with Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) regulations and drug and alcohol policies. Serves as the designated employer representative (DER), managing compliance matters in alignment with policies, ordinances, laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. - Serves as the designated employer representative, managing compliance matters and acting as a point of contact for regulatory agencies.
- Oversees CDL compliance, including adherence to regulations.
- Oversees the administration of drug and alcohol testing programs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Administers CDL examiner program.
- Conducts audits to identify any potential violations or areas for improvement and implements corrective actions.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to promote compliance.
- Provides guidance and interpretation of employment standards, policies, procedures, laws and regulations to employees and management.
- Prepares and submits reports required by regulatory agencies or management to demonstrate compliance efforts and outcomes.
- Maintains accurate and detailed records.
- Develops and conducts training on related policies and procedures.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No supervisory authority. Work requires providing guidance and training to others.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in in human resources, employment law or CDL compliance.
Licenses or Certifications
- Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Knowledge of:
- CDL regulations, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Federal Transportation Administration (FTA).
- General office practices and administrative procedures, records management and administration techniques and procedures.
- Common business software applications such as Microsoft Office and Google.
Skill in:
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data.
- Drafting, editing and formatting clear, and comprehensive policies and procedures.
- Researching laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure policy compliance.
- Organizing and managing time effectively.
- Developing and conducting training.
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records.
- Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.
Ability to:
