The Workforce Administrator coordinates, collaborates, and administers workforce initiatives in Colorado Springs. This new position will work to address city-wide workforce needs to ensure residents have a quality job and businesses have the talent needed. The position will be responsible for pursuing collaborations, building relationships, and creating sustainable strategies on a city/regional platform that increase the impact related to workforce readiness and meeting employers’ workforce needs.
As the Workforce Administrator, you will this position will create and maintain meaningful relationships with employers, educational institutions, and community organizations. You will represent the City of Colorado Springs on various community boards and make a meaningful impact to develop, grow, and enhance the workforce talent needed to fulfill the needs of businesses.

Essential Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
- Manages the development and implementation of workforce development projects, activities, and events.
- Develops project management/organizational tools such as project plans, timelines, and contact database/lists to ensure timely and complete project delivery.
- Provides direct communication to stakeholders about city business needs related to workforce and community actions taken to fill critical job openings.
- Responsible for supporting the growth and enhancement of the organization's workforce development programs and events to enhance city workforce initiatives.
- Promotes awareness of the workforce administration in person through community meetings and virtually through social media.
- Promotes and grows workforce administration by building relationships and soliciting data and information from various entities (e.g., K-12, higher education, public and private organizations/businesses, etc.);
- Performs other duties as required.
- The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization;
- The ability to demonstrate innovative leadership, pursue training and discovery, and welcome change;
- The ability to effectively combine the art of invention and the discipline of management
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in economics, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Five years of full-time, professional experience in economic development or community workforce.
- Public speaking experience
- Experience that demonstrates knowledge of workforce programs
- Experience partnering with workforce organizations to build collaborative and productive relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
The City of Colorado Springs offers additional compensation depending on the position, area of assignment, and specific job assignments, including shift differential, pay differential, acting or lead, special assignment, hazard pay, longevity, cell phone allowance, uniform allowance, relocation, awards, standby, call out, compensatory time off, tuition, overtime, extra duty, incentive, holiday premium, proficiency, and vacation sell back.
