The City of Collinsville is seeking a part-time Finance Associate to provide front-line customer service and support for City Hall operations. This role is fast-paced and customer-facing, requiring strong communication skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to City of Collinsville customers, including residents, non-resident water and sewer customers, internal staff, and elected officials
- Answer all City Hall main-line phone calls, assist or redirect callers as needed
- Respond to inquiries from a variety of sources (in person, phone, online, email, etc.) in a prompt, accurate, and friendly manner
- Process cash, credit card, check, and ACH payments for utility bills, permits, and other miscellaneous fees.
- Review and process applications for new water, sewer, and trash service
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- Must have availability to work Monday and Friday and one additional half-day per week, approximately 20 hours a week.
- 3 years of customer support experience or experience of customer service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay calm and maintain composure during stressful situations
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and in writing
- Comfortable with cash handling and high volumes of financial transactions; skilled in cash balancing
- General knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to fund accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing, and general ledger functions
- Bilingual candidates are highly preferred
Pay Rate
This part-time position is $20.00 per hour.
