The City of Collinsville is accepting applications for a part-time Building Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for performing maintenance services on Gateway Convention Center Facilities Technicians are responsible for the operation and maintenance of buildings and equipment. This position reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Technician and is located at the Gateway Convention Center.
Responsibilities
This position monitors operations daily. They oversee systems that include heating, lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, water purification, air filtering, electrical systems, grounds and technical support to events. Responsibilities include:
- Repair/replacement of broken items.
- Maintain the exterior of the building on a weekly basis.
- Oversee electrical, plumbing, mechanical contractors for all repairs in the building.
- Attention to details and ability to problem-solve.
Qualifications
This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and/or a minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in facility maintenance with a demonstrated skill in managing multiple functions. Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered.
- Must have a working knowledge troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in electrical/mechanical/plumbing systems, carpentry and considerable knowledge of tools, understanding in 3 phases electrical and 110-480 volt system, experience troubleshooting and repairing methods, variety of building trades practices, must be able to get certified on fork and scissor lift, and be proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Carpentry and painting skills, as well as drywall and carpet repair work, is a plus.
- Possession of an EPA certification, is a plus
Pay Rate
This position has an hourly rate of $23.00 per hour.
