Job Summary:
The City of Coachella seeks a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Director to oversee and manage the city's human resources operations. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and manage the city's human resources operations, including recruitment, classification, salary administration, benefits, and workers' compensation.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to support the city's workforce and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Supervise and manage a team of HR professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
- Collaborate with department heads and management staff to understand business needs and develop solutions to address them.
- Communicate effectively with employees, management, and the public to promote positive relationships and resolve issues.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in human resources management, labor relations, and employment law.
- Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and other materials to the City Manager and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in personnel management, industrial relations, public administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in human resources management, including 3 years of administrative and management responsibility.
- Valid California class C driver's license and automobile insurance.
