This position performs standard level professional work installing, maintaining, and repairing network hardware, network operating system hardware and software, and user application software.

About Our Job
The responsibilities for this position are as follows:
Configures and installs information system networks including hardware, operating systems software, network operating system software, network client software application software,
and communication systems.
Maintains and repairs database and information system networks.
Writes or modifies software programs including analysis, writing specifications and code, program installation, and documentation for use with multi-application, multi-user database systems.
Provides ongoing network technical support by troubleshooting and resolving unusual system problems.
Consults with supervisor and other data processing professionals to determine the most efficient and practical methods to meet end user and agency needs.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
About You
Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information
Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
Two years of professional IT experience maintaining, implementing, and modifying networked information technology or work processing operations, including system hardware and software.
Windows Server 2003 skills a must, as well as, Dell Server hardware and administration.
A combination of appropriate Information Technology education
and experience, including specified professional certifications and
licenses, may be substituted for the minimum education and
experience requirement.
The preferred candidate will have, in addition to the above required skill sets, experience with the following:
Analog and IP based digital video hardware CCTV DVR & VHS Systems (for conversion to our standard).
Wireless IP video and mesh technologies (i.e. 802.11 versus EVDO, etc.).
Knowledge of encoder/decoder hardware & configuration Video compression technologies to include MJPEG, MPEG-Part 10 & MPEG-Part 2 Knowledge of Law enforcement regulatory and ACLU requirements for public video surveillance Open-architecture enterprise video server NVR hardware and software software - (Prefer ONSSI NetDVMS/NetGuard EVS, NetMatrix & NetSwitcher).
Centralized video data storage technologies to include NAS/SAN (Preferably EMC).
Knowledge of video data archive storage with "chain of custody" preservation
