Distinguishing Features of the Class
Responsible for Birdland Marina operations including sales and cash handling, customer service, safety observance and record keeping duties. Duties include mowing, trimming, picking-up liter and dock maintenance. Performs other related work as required. Up 40 hours per week. Assigned work hours between 12 Noon-8 AM; Monday-Friday and 10 AM-6 PM Saturdays and Sundays including Holidays.
Recruitment is open until a sufficient number of qualified applicants is received to fill positions. HIRING PREFERENCE GIVEN TO THOSE APPLICANTS WHO HELD THE POSITION WITH THE CITY OF DES MOINES DURING THE 2008 SUMMER EMPLOYMENT SEASON.
Acceptable Experience and Training
Must be at least 18 years of age. Requires high school graduation or GED. Valid driver’s license or equivalent mobility required.
Required Special Qualifications
Requires satisfactory criminal, sex offender and driving record background checks. Passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen is required prior to employment.
