Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Utility Billing Clerk is responsible for performing utility billing and account maintenance functions, including processing payments, balancing daily transactions, assisting with billing cycles, and providing customer account support. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle financial transactions and customer inquiries in a professional manner.
Salary: Pay Grade 4 ($34,190 - $49,575) (depending upon experience and qualifications.)
Location: City Hall – Utility Billing/Water Administration
Status: Full-time, non-exempt, at-will position
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- One (1) to two (2) years of prior experience in customer service, cash handling/collections, or clerical/administrative support in an office setting required.
- Accounting or bookkeeping experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) preferred.
- Prior experience with utility billing or accounting software preferred.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and criminal background check.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
