Program Coordinator, Lead Accountability City of Cleveland — Office of the Senior Advisor for Lead Accountability
Position Overview The City of Cleveland is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Senior Advisor for Lead Accountability in advancing Cleveland's lead poisoning prevention efforts. This is opportunity well suited to an early- to mid-career professional who is eager to learn how city government works and wants to contribute to meaningful public health work.
The Program Coordinator will serve as an administrative and programmatic support to the Senior Advisor, helping manage relationships with external partners, coordinate cross-departmental events and trainings, and take on discrete program projects that expand the capacity of the office.

Under administrative direction, is responsible for planning and adminstering a specific project or program for a City department. Serves as the administrative supervisor on projects or programs. Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews activities of subordinate personnel. Monitors the project or program's operating budget and assists in the annual preparation of same. Designs, implements, and monitors procedures utilized in program evaluation. Develops and secures commitments from other City departments and agencies to provide services to program participants. Provides technical assistance or reviews program policies and procedures. Maintains current information and oversees the preparation of project status reports. Prepares financial and narrative reports and program applications. Communicates project/program status and information to municipal officials and/or public and private entities. May supervise employees assigned to the respective project. Performs other related duties as required.Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or closely related field preferred. Two (2) years of any equivalent combination of education, training and experience in program administration required. Must be able to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds. Valid State of Ohio Driver's License required.Key Responsibilities
Administrative and Relationship Support
- Manage scheduling and logistics for the Senior Advisor's meetings with external partners, city departments, and community stakeholders
- Coordinate with support staff at the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition and other partner organizations on joint events, communications, and follow-up
- Track action items and deadlines across departments on behalf of the Senior Advisor
- Draft routine correspondence, meeting agendas, and follow-up summaries
Cross-Departmental Events and Training
- Lead logistics for cross-departmental convenings including the annual team retreat — booking rooms, coordinating schedules, arranging catering, and managing day-of details
- Establish and support cross-departmental communication, including updates on local and national news around lead-poisoning prevention.
Substantive Program Projects
- Support the Senior Advisor in managing 1-2 discrete lead-safe program initiatives as bandwidth allows, such as coordinating lead risk assessment programs, problem-solving with lead abatement contractors in the workforce system, and responding to other needs identified by the Ombudsperson office.
- As the office grows, take on additional program coordination responsibilities commensurate with experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MPA or related graduate degree a plus
- 0-5 years of professional experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces across different teams and organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in public health, housing policy, or local government strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Cleveland's lead-safe housing landscape a plus but not required
- Collaborative, proactive work style — someone who takes initiative and follows through

Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
