Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises the revenue accounting staff and reviews/approves their work (journal entries, reconciliations, reports, etc.) to ensure work is accurate and in accordance with lease terms and general accepted accounting principles.
- Leads the month-end revenue close by validating accruals, preparing revenue account reconciliations, journal entries, conducting fluctuation analyses and reporting disclosures.
- Provides mid-year and year-end financial statement support by preparing schedules, reports, etc.
- Provides financial audit support by preparing schedules, reports and various other information needed to conduct the annual audit.
- Oversees the accounts receivable aging reports and collection processes.
- Develops and maintains internal control policies and procedures to standardize collection and reporting of revenue collection information and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure the consistent practice and application of the organization’s revenue accounting policies, with attention to areas requiring judgment and estimates.
- Produces management reports, financial statements and other statistical reports for the COC DPC.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports to meet Federal and State Reporting Requirements.
- Responds to ad-hoc requests from management concerning revenue recognition and variance analysis.
- Is responsible for hiring, development and performance of the workforce. Develops and monitors employee goals, counsels and coaches, instructs and evaluates employees, initiates and enforces disciplinary actions, and informs leadership of performance or operational issues if necessary.
- Promotes and ensures compliance with occupational health and safety management policies, procedures, and programs to minimize employee accidents and to promote a safe work environment. Prepares accident and injury reports as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Additional Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other closely related field from a four-year accredited college or university.
- Five years of full-time paid progressively responsible experience in an accounting related field.
- Experience with revenue transactions and accounting guidance around revenue.
- Understanding of Financial analysis and techniques.
- NIMS and ICS certifications for Management tier and any assigned working groups must be completed within six months of employment and complete additional or refresher trainings as required.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment that fosters non-discrimination.
- Ability to work independently in analyzing and resolving issues.
- Must be detail oriented, have the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Must have strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be computer proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
- A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License is required.
- Must successfully complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 10-year fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check and employment background check and Security Threat Assessment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Must be able to lift and carry thirty-five (35) pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of full-time, paid accounting experience working in an airport environment.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager Credentials.
