SUMMARY: Incumbents primary responsibility is to safely operate various types of city vehicles.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performs general maintenance tasks necessary to keep machinery, equipment, and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, refilling fluids, cleaning equipment, refueling vehicles, or cleaning work/storage areas; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
- available for emergency overtime 24/7
- Safely operate trucks to perform snowplowing and similar duties
- Safely operate trucks to haul various materials
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
NoneQUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Basic maintenance principles
- Basic mathematical concepts
- Applicable tools and equipment
- Safe work practices
- Asphalt and Concrete Application
- CDL Class B
- Safe operation of equipment/machinery/vehicles ( including the operation of power drills, jackhammers, etc)
- Performing manual labor
- Using applicable tools and equipment related to area of assignment
- Operating small hand and power tools and other related equipment
- Performing routine street maintenance and repair activities
- Perform routine activities
- Understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Provide quality customer service
- Participate in teamwork productively
- Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
CERTIFICATION/ LICENSURE:
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Ohio commercial driver’s license.
