What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cain Park Operations Assistant position at City of Cleveland Heights?
Has the responsibility for assisting with the day to day operation of the theater, special events and park.
- Attend weekly Cain Park staff meetings as a delegate for the Operations Department to discuss upcoming events and to be informed of any maintenance needs, as needed.
- Conduct daily surveys of the Park grounds and spaces to evaluate what areas need attention and, after discussion, assign these responsibilities.
- Working with the Operations Mgr and/or the Assistant Operations Manager on maintenance and upkeep for all on-site vehicles and equipment, including, but not limited to ensuring that there is enough gas/oil/mix on site to service all vehicles/equipment, coordinating the repair of any broken vehicles/equipment, cleaning of all on-site vehicles, and filling all on-site vehicles with gas/oil/water.
- Work with the Operations Manager and/or Assistant Operations Manager on implementing any Operational needs for performances, such as banners, promotional/partnership tables, receptions or parties, handicapped needs, tents, etc.
- At the end of each shift, sign and return a supervisor checklist or report to the Operations Manager, documenting attention of assigned maintenance/operations responsibilities.
- Purchase needed supplies and/or equipment as needed after approval by the Operations Manager, such as table covers, garbage bags, poison ivy killer, oil, staples, etc.
- Assist the Operations Manager and/or General Manager with any Arts Festival needs.
- In conjunction with the Operations Manager, assist City employees with repairs to Cain Park facilities.
- Responsible to be on-site for any events as deemed necessary by the Operations Manager and/or Assistant Operations Manager.
- Maintain high safety levels at all times for Park patrons, volunteers, and employees.
- Responsible to maintain a professional atmosphere among staff and volunteers.
- Responsible to report all unusual occurrences and any problems to the Operations Manager or General Manager.
- Work with other Cain Park and/or City employees for any additional Arts Festival or Park production needs.
- Responsible for assisting the Operations Manager and/or Assistant Operations Manager with final securing and locking up of the compound at the finish of all events.
- Responsible, in case of emergency, to contact the Operations Manager, and if necessary, the House Manager(s) to let them know what the nature of the emergency is, and what to expect. Decisions regarding cancellation of any performance or event will rest with the General Manager and/or the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Cleveland Heights.
- Responsible to work along with the Event Maintenance crew and Operations Manager to ensure the cleanliness of the Park before and during events.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or the General Manager.
- High school diploma or equivelant
- Must be able to work nights and/or weekends
- Able to safely lift at least 50lbs and climb ladders
- Able to work outside in various weather conditions
- Landscaping experience a plus
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license
- Self motivated and able to work independently
