What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cain Park Assistant Operations Manager position at City of Cleveland Heights?
Assist and support operations manager with the daily facilities management of the park.
Directly responsible to the General Manager, you are a part of the upper management team. This part time seasonal position covers administrative day time hours. Select event coverage may be mutually agreed upon by the GM and Operations Manager.
Beginning in April, assist the General Manager and Operations Coordinators with the general starting up of the Park.
Assist with the hiring of running crews for the Theater production (as needed), in conjunction with the Theater Production Manager, and help maintain contact sheet and payroll information for same.
Assist the General Manager in processing Equity contracts, health forms, Equity payroll, run crew and orchestra contracts, and individual time sheets and invoices for extra labor.
Stay within the Theater and organizational budget and compromise when necessary.
Process weekly check requests in conjunction with the General Manager.
Create spreadsheets for revenue accounting, payroll and other information as requested by the General Manager.
Schedule and supervise Operations Staff work.
Work with other City employees for any additional Arts Festival or Park production needs.
Work with the General Manager on purchases for the park.
Maintain high safety levels at all times.
Responsible for general supervision of patron problems and questions as they relate to Cain Park procedures and the City.
Act on behalf of the General Manager if/when he is not onsite in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant with regard to contractual agreements with artists, weather related emergencies, patron related emergencies, and generally uphold the policies, rules as a representative of the City of Cleveland Heights.
Prior to receipt of the final paycheck, you will be required to submit a written final report summarizing the season, with suggestions for future improvement. This report must include a full end-of-season inventory of all production equipment and materials, supplies on hand, and their approximate value.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience managing a small crew of people
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to work nights and/or weekends
- Able to safely lift at least 50lbs and climb ladders
- Able to work outside in various weather conditions
- Landscaping experience a plus
- Must have a valid Ohio driver's license
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Mature demeanor
