The City of Clearwater is seeking an intern to assist our Public Works Department in our Sustainability & Environmental Division in a variety of projects.
Under the general direction of the Sustainability & Environmental Division Manager and Sustainability & Resilience Specialist, the Sustainability Intern will assist with projects, events and communications that support the city's sustainability, resiliency, and environmental initiatives.
Salary: Interns may work for an hourly rate, for college credit with a stipend, or unpaid intern volunteer.
Freshman or Sophomore College Student - $14.00/hr.
Junior, Senior, or Technical/Vocational College Student - $15.00/hr.
Graduate Level College Student - $16.00

Valid State Driver's License Required
Minimum Requirements:

Schedule/Duration:
- The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the intern’s class schedule. The duration of the internship is flexible to meet the needs of the department and the student’s academic requirements.
- The recommended number is less than 25 hours per week for internships and for 3 to 9 months.
- Co-op positions will be reviewed and discussed based on the university program.
- Support the Sustainability Division in organizing, coordinating and conducting education and outreach events
- Assist with grant writing and grant funded program development
- Brainstorm and ideation for implementing strategies outlined in Greenprint 2.0
- Research on sustainability topics as needed
- Draft content for various communication materials such as newsletter, bill insert, social media posts, flyers and others
- Perform administrative tasks such as meeting preparation, taking minutes, data entry, project progress tracking and evaluation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Valid State Driver's License Required
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled college student (graduate level, technical/vocational). Preferred majors/concentrations include Sustainability, Environmental Studies/Science/Engineering/Law, Public Administration, or Urban Planning.
- Knowledge and experience to successfully fulfill the duties and responsibilities listed above as this position will be ethical, hardworking, and strong desire to learn. Experience can be personal or professional.
Salary : $27,300 - $48,750
