SALARY: $45,036 to $63,049 Annually
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Cheyenne Presents Marketing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the promotion, visibility, and success of live entertainment experiences across the Cheyenne Civic Center and other City of Cheyenne event venues. This position focuses on executing marketing efforts for Cheyenne Presents promoted shows, supporting rental event marketing needs, and assisting with broader department-wide branding and recognition initiatives. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about live events, with the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns for Cheyenne Presents shows and series (e.g., concerts, special events, community programming)
- Create and schedule content across digital platforms including social media, website, and email marketing
- Draft engaging copy for social posts, event listings, newsletters, and promotional materials
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely promotion of events
- Support ticket sales efforts through targeted campaigns and audience engagement strategies
- Track performance metrics and provide insights to improve campaign effectiveness
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Civic Center Rental Support
- Collaborate with renters, promoters, and internal staff to support marketing needs for Civic Center rental events
- Ensure brand standards are upheld while accommodating client promotional materials
- Assist in updating event listings across platforms and maintaining accurate event information
Department Branding & Recognition
- Support marketing efforts that highlight Community Recreation & Events programs, partnerships, and community impact
- Assist with sponsor recognition, event recaps, and storytelling initiatives that elevate the Cheyenne Presents brand
- Contribute to the development of promotional materials, signage, and in-venue marketing elements
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain marketing calendars and assist with campaign timelines
- Organize and manage digital assets including photos, videos, and graphics
- Coordinate with vendors, media partners, and internal departments as needed
- Provide on-site support at events, including evenings and weekends as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Preferred experience in event marketing, entertainment, or venue promotion
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools (e.g., email platforms, scheduling tools, analytics)
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite)
- Photography and/or videography experience is a plus
- Primarily based at the Cheyenne Civic Center with occasional work at other city facilities
- Flexible schedule required, including nights and weekends for events
- Collaborative, team-oriented environment with a focus on delivering high-quality community experiences
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
