POLICE DEPARTMENT
INTERIM EVIDENCE / PROPERTY TECHNICIAN
Starting Salary: $45,000 - $50,000
Non-exempt | Interim
REQUIREMENTS:
Under general supervision, the Interim Evidence / Property Technician performs responsible work involving the receipt, documentation, storage, control, release, and lawful disposition of found, recovered, and evidential property in the custody of the Chester Police Department.
Ensures strict chain-of-custody accountability and compliance with departmental policies, South Carolina Code of Laws, and SCLEA standards.
Adheres to all safety, security, and confidentiality procedures necessary for the safe and efficient performance of duties.
Reports to the: CHIEF OF POLICE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to handle, lift, and move evidence/property as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in evidence/property management or law enforcement support
- Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
- Experience with RMS or evidence management systems
