Position Summary

The Intake Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for residents and landlords interested in participating in the city’s lead inspection and remediation programs. The Intake Specialist conducts community outreach, manages intake and enrollment, completes eligibility documentation and verification, and supports participant coordination throughout the pre-remediation through the post-remediation process. The role also assists with temporary relocation coordination and ensures households understand program requirements, timelines, and available resources.

Key Responsibilities

● Conduct community outreach and respond to inquiries from residents, landlords, and partner organizations to build and manage the program pipeline

● Serve as the primary program contact for prospective Participants; schedule intake appointments and explain program eligibility, requirements, and next steps

● Assist households with enrollment and application completion; collect, review, and verify eligibility documentation and required forms

● Maintain accurate, confidential participant files and enter data into program tracking systems; ensure documentation is complete for reporting and monitoring

● Coordinate scheduling and communication for inspections/risk assessments and follow-up visits in collaboration with other team members

● Support temporary relocation coordination, including participant communications, scheduling and documentation consistent with program policies

● Provide participant education and referrals as appropriate (lead hazard prevention, tenant/landlord resources, and local support services)

● Track participants status from inquiry through enrollment and readiness for construction; identify barriers and elevate issues to program leadership

● Support reporting by maintaining up-to-date logs (inquiries, enrollments, eligibility status, relocation needs, and participant communications)

Qualifications

High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (public health, human services, community development, or related)

● 2 years of community outreach, intake, case coordination, or client services experience preferred

● Strong customer service, organization, and documentation skills; ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

● Comfort working in the community and communicating with diverse residents and property owners

● Ability to speak Spanish is a plus

Pay: Up to $32.00 per hour
