Concession Stand Attendant

The part-time Firemen’s Park summer concessions position prepares and serves food products and beverages in an outdoor concession stand. Must be available to work evenings, weekend and/or holidays. Hours may be extended or shortened when weather dictates.

1. Prepares and serves food products and refreshments in a manner that meets all local and state health code requirements, rules, and guidelines.
2. Maintains kitchen and storage areas in a clean and safe manner.
3. Assists in the performance of a wide variety of maintenance functions including trash removal, cleaning, and stocking.
4. Cleans and sanitizes food service area and equipment.
5. Rents recreation equipment (paddleboards and boats) and correctly fits patrons with appropriately sized life jackets.
6. Monitors park usage and assists customers as needed
7. Acts as a positive representative for City of Chaska Parks and Recreation Department
8. Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 16 years of age

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to do basic math, manage cash and operate a cash register
• Ability to organize, prioritize and complete a variety of work tasks
• A commitment to and belief in the organizations shared values
• Ability to communicate and work effectively and professionally with co-workers and public 

EQUIPMENT USED

• Cash register
• Standard cleaning supplies and chemicals - sprays, mops, push brooms, trash containers
• Standard concession stand food preparation equipment - ovens, microwaves, freezers/coolers

Mental Effort

• Ability to remain alert with no lapses of consciousness for long periods of time in a warm environment with air temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
• Ability to recognize distress signals
• Communicate with staff and public
• Attention to safety standards, procedures, and practices

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. and move/lift paddleboards.
• Must be comfortable being in an outdoor environment during May – September
