The purpose of this position is to assist the Recreation Coordinator and Assistant Pool Managers in the supervision, deployment, and training of lifeguard staff at the pool. Â In addition to functioning as a lifeguard, the Head Lifeguard is responsible for the on-site supervision, utilization, and performance of lifeguard staff. Â Duties can include, but are not limited to: supervising assigned pool personnel; enforcing all rules and regulations; some pool maintenance including vacuum operation, and maintaining facility sanitation; provide for the safety of all patrons utilizing the pool facility; providing and ensuring premier customer service to patrons. Â This position may also develop and conduct in-service training, prepare reports on pool operations, pool patrons, maintenance, programs, rentals, & special events as needed; performs other duties as assigned.

- Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by educating customers, resolving customer concerns, meeting customer needs, responding to requests and helping to maintain a safe and clean pool environment in a professional manner.
- Assist with training, scheduling, motivating, correcting, and supervising all lifeguard personnel. Â Ensure that all shifts are covered. Will spend at least 70% of their time outside.
- Assist with rentals, programs, and special events for the pool.
- Oversee general facility maintenance and cleanliness including:Â
- cleaning bathhouse restrooms, pool house areas, pool, pool deck, pool yard, and pool equipment.Â
- Coordinates lifeguard rotations and ensures lifeguards are on duty during all pool use. Â May assist on stand as needed.Â
- Assists in providing in-service training each week on safety and emergency procedures.
- Render emergency care as needed.
- Ensure all State of Texas and City of Cedar Hill pool regulations and policies are followed during the pool season. Ensures enforcement of regulations and policies by pool staff.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Requires regular attendance.
- Less than high school education acceptable. Â
- Must be at least 16 years of age (by May 2026).
- Related experience preferred.Â
- A current American Red Cross certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguarding.
