Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Carrollton, TX, for a Controller. The Controller will oversee financial operations and reporting, and ensure compliance with regulatory and municipal requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing financial statements, developing internal controls, overseeing audits, and collaborating with departmental leaders to support fiscal decision-making and long-term financial strategy.
Qualifications
- Accounting and financial expertise, including experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
- Experience in preparing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for a local government entity
- Leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising teams and collaborating across departments
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities, including financial forecasting and decision support
- Knowledge of local government financial regulations, policies, and practices is an asset
- Proficiency with financial software and standard office applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CGFO is preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage competing priorities effectively
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a municipal or public sector environment
