What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time position at City Of Carmel?
The City of Carmel is seeking dependable, safety-focused individuals to join our Street Department team as On-Call Snowplow Drivers during the winter season. In this role, you will help keep our roadways safe and accessible by responding to snow and ice events as needed.
This position is open to both CDL driver's and Non-CDL Licensed driver's!
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate snow plow trucks and related winter maintenance equipment
- Safely clear and treat roads, streets, and municipal areas during winter weather events
- Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Follow established routes, procedures, and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and snow operations staff
- Assist with additional tasks related to winter operations as assigned
Requirements:
- Valid Indiana Commercial Driver’s License to qualify for CDL pay rate or Valid Indiana Driver’s License
- Clean driving record
- Ability to work in challenging weather conditions, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Reliable transportation to report when called
- Previous snow plowing or heavy-equipment experience is a plus
