The City of Camas Finance Department is seeking qualified applicants to provide support to the Finance Department.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Non-standard hours as needed)
Reporting to: Assistant Finance Director
Representation: Camas Public Employees’ Association (CPEA)

The Financial Assistant serves as the primary face of the Finance Department, providing essential support through clerical accounting and high-level customer service. This role is responsible for the accuracy of financial record-keeping, including cash receipting and utility billing accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cash receipting, post financial data, and ensure accounts receivable are balanced and summarized accurately.
- Assemble and tabulate financial data to prepare routine reports for the department.
- Act as the first point of contact for utility billing inquiries, resolving issues with a professional and helpful demeanor.
- Execute a variety of clerical tasks to maintain efficient workflow within the assigned area.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) supplemented by college-level coursework in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least two years of increasingly responsible clerical accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a proven ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
- Prior background in banking or high-volume cash handling.
