Description
The Municipal Court Assistant Judge is a part-time position under the general direction of the Town Council within the legal framework established by state statute and local ordinances. Our Municipal Court Assistant Judges are responsible for applying relevant Supreme Court rules, State statutes, Town ordinances, and case law when presiding over bench and jury trials, pre-trial conferences, arraignments, motions, and other hearings.

Essential Duties
The Municipal Court Assistant Judge conducts court sessions and other associated duties in the event the Municipal Court Judge is unavailable or has a conflict of interest in a case.
Graduation from law school with a Juris Doctorate degree or LL.B; AND five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney (preferably with in-court background); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties

- Act as Assistant Judge in Municipal Court for traffic and municipal code violations.
- Required to be responsive to communication by telephone or email for needs outside the courtroom.
Graduation from law school with a Juris Doctorate degree or LL.B; AND five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney (preferably with in-court background); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must complete annual continuing education requirements as required by state statute.
