As a Fleet Superintendent, you will oversee the asset management, operations, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all city-owned vehicles and equipment. You will lead a dedicated team of employees who support the care and upkeep of our fleet. - Fostering a customer service-oriented approach to the maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment and vehicles.
- Coordinating procurement, maintenance, and repair activities across departments and with external vendors.

- Stay informed on new equipment and features based on organizational needs and manage the disposal of replaced equipment.
- Analyze asset management data alongside system trends to advise departments on equipment needs, replacement schedules, costs, and labor charges.

- Overseeing the fleet asset management system to track labor, parts, materials, and maintenance work, ensuring accurate chargebacks to appropriate departments.
- Aligning the capital replacement budget with asset management data and known information about vehicles and equipment.
What you'll bring to help you be successful
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two-year post-secondary mechanic certification in Diesel/Heavy Equipment or Automotive/Light Equipment Mechanics
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in fleet maintenance as a mechanic
- Three years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement, or the ability to obtain one within 9 months
- Local government experience preferred
