Position Details
You’ll be part of the Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department, a team of dedicated professionals who provide access to city facilities, maintain parks and trails, and run recreation programs and events that enrich the lives of Burnsville residents.
This is an evening, on-call position typically scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Hours may vary between 8 and 20 per week, depending on department needs. How you'll use your strengths every day
The Custodian values people and perspectives by:
- Performing a variety of custodial tasks to care for City buildings.
- Assisting in keeping facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained.

- Perform semi-skilled work with a focus on floor care and carpet cleaning.
- Maintain and inventory custodial equipment and supplies.

- Setting up rooms and spaces for large events.
- Supporting building security by locking and unlocking doors as needed.
What you'll bring to help you be successful
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License or be eligible for licensure in the State of Minnesota.
- Custodial experience and local government experience are preferred.
