What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Lifeguard position at City of Burleson, TX?
Primary Duty:
This position is responsible for performing lifeguard functions related to swimming and safety and overseeing basic order in the facility. Serve in lead lifeguard capacity backing up staff as needed, resolution of customer service issues, and opening/closing the aquatics area. The primary focus of the Lead Lifeguard is the safety of the guests.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma, preferred.
• At least one year's experience supervising lifeguards in a municipal pool setting preferred.
• One year of experience teaching learn-to-swim or aqua aerobics preferred.
• Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES PREFERRED/REQUIRED:
• LGI (Lifeguard Instructor) preferred (note; if hired without a LGI certification, employee must acquire the certification within 90 days of promotion).
• American Red Cross lifeguard required including Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
