- Competitive Salary: $25.75 to $29.38 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

As a Certified Peace Officer, you will enforce city ordinances, state and federal laws, and departmental directives. You will make ethical decisions, communicate effectively with the public and co-workers, and provide police services with professionalism and integrity.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Enforcing appropriate City ordinances, State and Federal laws, and all written directives
- Making ethical decisions that conform to applicable laws and policies
- Communicating effectively and maintaining professionalism in all circumstances
- Providing police services and assistance
- Maintaining acceptable physical fitness level
- Following chain of command and instructions
- Executing orders from supervisors in emergency situations
- Adapting to procedures, programs, and assignments
- Initiating work independently and seeking supervisory intervention when needed
- Preserving crime scenes and conducting thorough investigations
- Must Possess current TCOLE peace officer license
- Currently employed with a law enforcement agency or engaged in law enforcement duties within the last 24 months
- Honorable standing with previous department
- Not under investigation with previous department
- Complete background investigation and hiring process
- Successfully complete field training program
- Successfully complete 12-month probationary period

- Make sound decisions under pressure
- Communicate clearly and tactfully with staff and the public
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Respond effectively to emergencies
Skills in:
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation
- Incident command and scene control
